Senior Medical Affairs Manager – Dietary Supplements

πŸ“‹ Description

β€’ Act as a comprehensive scientific and medical thought leader, as well as a business partner for the dietary supplement and consumer care portfolio.

β€’ Convert scientific insights into product claims, messaging, educational materials, and support for business decisions.

β€’ Direct the scientific strategy for designated VMHS/consumer care platforms.

β€’ Assist in innovation and renovation processes, as well as decisions throughout the product lifecycle.

β€’ Assess evidence and validate product and platform claims.

β€’ Oversee the creation, review, and approval of claims dossiers, scientific narratives, training resources, and consumer/customer education materials.

β€’ Collaborate with Marketing, Innovation/Renovation, Regulatory, and various cross-functional teams.

β€’ Guarantee scientific precision in product communications and contribute to regulatory submissions.

β€’ Engage with professional societies, trade organizations, suppliers, customers, KOLs, healthcare professionals, academic experts, and scientific communities.

β€’ Recognize scientific, clinical, and market trends.

β€’ Lead evidence-generation initiatives including real-world evidence, clinical trials, literature reviews, meta-analyses, publications, and medical communications.

β€’ Mentor, guide, and develop VMHS Medical Affairs Managers.

β€’ Set team metrics, evaluate effectiveness, support development plans, and cultivate a high-performing collaborative team culture.


⛳️ Requirements

β€’ MS or PhD with specialization in nutritional science or a related discipline such as biochemistry, physiology, or biology.

β€’ Over 8 years of experience in nutritional, medical, or scientific affairs, or a blend of academic and industry experience.

β€’ Proven scientific leadership and experience in external engagement.

β€’ Experience in the dietary supplement industry, particularly in claims substantiation and evidence-based product commercialization.

β€’ Strong scientific foundation with the ability to interpret and convey scientific concepts for consumer, customer, and HCP communications.

β€’ Proficiency in presenting scientific information in both external forums and internal executive contexts.

β€’ Experience in managing personnel and teams.

β€’ Preferred professional credentials in nutrition or a clinical-related field, such as RD, RN, RPh, or MD.
