Senior Mechanical Engineer – SolidWorks, AU Heavy Industry/Mining Design

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Philippines.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete mechanical design, modeling, and detailing processes for heavy machinery, materials handling systems, and structural components utilizing SolidWorks.

• Direct full-lifecycle engineering projects starting from initial scoping and conceptual design through to fabrication, site installation, and commissioning.

• Execute mechanical design calculations, structural analysis, and design verification to fulfill client operational needs and adhere to safety regulations.

• Collaborate directly with Australian clients, fabricators, and field engineers to manage project timelines, deliverables, and technical adjustments.

• Generate extensive engineering documentation, including detailed drawings, general arrangements, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and maintenance manuals.

• Perform Design Risk Assessments (Safety in Design/HAZOP) and ensure all fabrications comply with stringent quality and safety standards.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification.

• A minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering design experience, preferably within heavy industry, mining, or machinery manufacturing.

• Established experience supporting Australian clients or operating within Australian engineering standards and business frameworks.

• Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks for intricate 3D assembly modeling and detailed drafting.

• Proven ability to manage engineering projects from concept to execution with minimal supervision.

• Strong familiarity with relevant Australian Standards (e.g., AS 1100, AS 4024, AS 3990) is preferred.

• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) software (e.g., SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS) is preferred.

• Practical field experience with mining equipment commissioning, maintenance, or troubleshooting is preferred.

• Excellent client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills are preferred.
