Senior Mechanical Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Direct and manage a team comprising industrial mechanical, process, and piping engineers and technicians.

• Oversee the activities of technicians, engineers, and engineers-in-training (EITs); assess resource requirements and assign resources to projects.

• Offer technical support and deliver occupational health and safety (OHS) training.

• Engage in the development of proposals and project planning processes.

• Assume responsibility for the mechanical and/or piping aspects of projects from inception to completion.

• Ensure that deliverables meet specifications and maintain project profitability.

• Evaluate the discipline's scope of work, delineate tasks and deliverables, and assist in scheduling.

• Convey the discipline's requirements to other departments and clients.

• Guide and oversee the design, estimation, and drafting of drawings and specifications.

• Develop a quality assurance and compliance strategy for drawings and specifications.

• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration.

• Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor’s degree or college diploma in mechanical engineering or a related field.

• Membership in the Ordre des ingénieurs du Québec is highly desirable.

• At least 15 years of relevant experience in consulting engineering or industrial engineering.

• Extensive experience in industrial process mechanical engineering and/or piping.

• Proven experience in supervising project teams, with accountability for schedules, resources, and budgets.

• Demonstrated leadership and strong interpersonal abilities.

• Capability to organize and chair meetings with colleagues across various disciplines and client representatives.

• Drive to train and cultivate efficient teams dedicated to producing high-quality outcomes.

• A robust professional network within the heavy industry sector.

• Proficiency in both French and English, with excellent oral and written communication skills in both languages.
