This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.
• Lead and oversee environmental consulting projects, which encompass contaminated land investigations, environmental risk assessments, remediation initiatives, pollution incident responses, and evaluations of environmental liabilities.
• Assist insurers, loss adjusters, legal experts, and corporate clients in conducting investigations related to environmental and occupational health insurance claims.
• Execute and supervise environmental and occupational hygiene assessments, focusing on workplace exposure monitoring, investigations of indoor environmental quality, and health risk assessments.
• Develop and manage sampling programs for environmental and occupational hazards, such as asbestos, lead, mould, respirable crystalline silica, dust, fibres, VOCs, Legionella, indoor air quality pollutants, soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, and hazardous materials.
• Offer technical guidance regarding environmental compliance, occupational health threats, contamination challenges, and remediation approaches.
• Draft and evaluate technical reports, risk assessments, remediation strategies, and expert advisory outputs.
• Cultivate client relationships and serve as a trusted consultant to insurers, property owners, industrial clients, legal professionals, developers, and public-sector organizations.
• Promote business growth through proposal development, client interactions, presentations, and networking opportunities.
• Oversee project timelines, budgets, resources, and financial outcomes while ensuring exceptional client service and adherence to regulatory standards.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Hygiene, Industrial Hygiene, Geology, Hydrogeology, Earth Sciences, Environmental Health & Safety, or a closely related field.
• A minimum of 7 years of pertinent consulting experience in areas such as environmental consulting, occupational hygiene, contaminated land, or environmental risk management.
• Proficiency in designing and managing environmental monitoring and sampling programs related to soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air quality, and hazardous materials.
• In-depth understanding of contaminated land evaluation, pollution incident response, remediation processes, and environmental liability management.
• Experience in assisting insurers, loss adjusters, legal professionals, or corporate clients with environmental claims, liability inquiries, or property damage issues.
• Familiarity with relevant UK regulatory frameworks, including those governing environmental, occupational health, and hazardous materials.
• Demonstrated capability in managing intricate projects, budgets, timelines, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong skills in client relationship management and business development, with a focus on identifying prospects and driving revenue growth.
• Excellent competencies in technical report writing, communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement.
• A full UK driving license and a willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as needed.
• Preferred: Chartered status or membership in a relevant professional organization such as BOHS, IEMA, CIWEM, Society for the Environment, Geological Society, IOSH, ICE, or CIH.
• Preferred: Professional qualifications in occupational hygiene, industrial hygiene, asbestos management, environmental management, or health and safety.
• Preferred: Experience in conducting and managing environmental and occupational hygiene investigations, including sampling and risk evaluations.
• Preferred: Background in supporting claims related to environmental liabilities, pollution, construction, property damage, or occupational exposure within the insurance industry.
• Preferred: Experience in providing expert advisory services, litigation support, or technical assistance in legal cases and dispute resolution.
• Preferred: Established connections within the insurance, legal, loss adjusting, environmental consulting, or occupational hygiene fields.
