Senior Manager, Technology Category Management

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Pennsylvania, +1 more state.

📋 Description

• Define and oversee category strategies, sourcing plans, pipeline priorities, annual category plans, and long-term strategies for the assigned technology expenditure.

• Identify opportunities for productivity enhancement through analysis of spending, demand, and market trends, which includes consolidation, demand management, renegotiation, rate and license optimization, and process improvement.

• Lead end-to-end sourcing events, supplier evaluations, negotiations, award recommendations, and enterprise contract selections.

• Drive the realization of negotiated productivity, validate savings with the Finance team, ensure successful implementation and adoption, and track benefits until completion.

• Manage supplier performance, contract adherence, issue resolution, business reviews, SLAs, KPIs, financial and cyber risks, as well as commitments to innovation and sustainability.

• Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with key technology suppliers.

• Coordinate activities among business, IT, Legal, Finance, Security, Sourcing, Corporate Program Managers, and regional stakeholders.

• Act as the primary liaison with business, IT, and vendor leadership; provide status updates, identify risks, and offer recommendations to senior leadership.

• Oversee category budgets, savings tracking, resource utilization, and short-term delivery plans.

• Keep abreast of market trends, emerging technologies, and vendor capabilities.

• Support MA&D and corporate initiatives, including due diligence, synergy identification, Day-1 readiness, vendor rationalization, and post-transaction integration or separation.

• Lead initiatives for process improvements, onboarding, cross-training, local standardization, and updates to category policies, procedures, and playbooks.

• Manage team performance across both onshore and offshore locations; assign tasks, set goals, facilitate development, and support talent decisions.

• Propel scalable AI deployment, operational efficiencies, cost-reduction strategies, and automated workflows within procurement.

• Assist the Director in stakeholder engagement and relationship management.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, or a related field.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement, with at least 5 years dedicated to technology categories.

• Required experience in the assigned category, which may include hardware, telecom, cloud, software, or technology services.

• At least 3 years of experience in leading or mentoring team members.

• Proven success in negotiating complex, high-value technology contracts and delivering quantifiable savings.

• Strong comprehension of technology commercial models, including licensing, subscription, consumption, SOW/T&M/fixed-price contracts, and SLAs.

• Knowledge of related risks, as well as data privacy and security considerations.

• Advanced analytical capabilities.

• Proficient in spend analytics and sourcing tools such as Ariba, Power BI, and Excel.

• Exceptional communication skills and executive presence.

• Demonstrated ability to influence senior business and IT stakeholders.

• An MBA or advanced degree is preferred.

• Experience managing teams across multiple geographical locations is preferred.

• Previous experience with MA&D sourcing support, and in healthcare, pharma, or other regulated industries is a plus.

• Professional certifications such as CPSM, CPP, ISM, or similar are advantageous.
