Senior Manager, Software Engineering

📋 Description

• Lead and expand the Foundations engineering team from 7 to 12 engineers and beyond.

• Recruit and nurture outstanding talent while upholding high technical and cultural benchmarks.

• Develop leveling paths and growth strategies while addressing any underperformance issues.

• Foster a culture of high trust and elevated standards within the engineering team.

• Drive quarterly objectives, milestones, reliable delivery schedules, and accountability.

• Steer architectural direction for platform and infrastructure projects.

• Shape the roadmap focusing on resiliency, scalability, and operational efficiency.

• Manage on-call and incident response protocols.

• Enhance platform resiliency.

• Supervise deployment and release management processes.

• Collaborate with engineering and product leadership on platform strategy initiatives.

• Promote the adoption of agentic engineering practices throughout the team.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven experience managing platform, infrastructure, or foundational engineering teams in fast-paced growth settings.

• In-depth technical knowledge of cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS.

• Familiarity with Kubernetes.

• Experience with infrastructure-as-code principles.

• Proficient in CI/CD methodologies.

• Knowledge of observability practices.

• Strong background in software engineering.

• Proficient in Go, Python, TypeScript, or Ruby programming languages.

• Experience managing SQL and RDBMS in production at scale, ideally with PostgreSQL.

• History of operational excellence, including building on-call programs, managing incident response protocols, and overseeing deployment and release management.

• Skilled in agentic, AI-assisted development methodologies.

• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
