This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Design and implement strategies that promote global software development and innovation.
• Provide strategic guidance, objectives, and process enhancements in alignment with CTO leadership.
• Lead cross-functional Agile teams across various locations to deliver scalable, high-quality software solutions.
• Mentor and guide Directors and team leads effectively.
• Represent the software department while fostering strong cross-functional relationships.
• Direct teams focused on software platforms that support WCS, WES, and Optimizer products.
• Assess and recommend tools, frameworks, and technologies for software development.
• Conduct architecture reviews and offer technical direction.
• Supervise daily operations of software engineering and product development teams.
• Ensure effective coordination, collaboration, and code reuse among distributed teams and subsystems.
• Assist in project planning, execution, and delivery in collaboration with Software Project Management.
• Uphold software design and documentation standards.
• Guarantee the integration of microservices through API gateways, service discovery, and messaging systems like Kafka and RabbitMQ.
• Manage data consistency, resilience, and transactional integrity across distributed systems.
• Collaborate with software QA and infrastructure teams on testing, deployment, and packaging.
• Provide onsite and remote support for WES/WCS implementations and troubleshooting activities.
• Contribute to software strategy and the exploration of emerging technologies.
• Aid R&D initiatives by selecting resources and providing technical guidance.
• Promote continuous improvement and the adoption of best practices in software engineering and delivery.
• Develop and nurture a high-performing software team through training, mentoring, and supervision.
• Organize technical training sessions and advocate for skill development.
• Cultivate a collaborative and inclusive team culture.
• Over 10 years of experience in Supply Chain Execution.
• Familiarity with fulfillment and warehouse automation processes.
• Experience in the software development lifecycle (SDLC) with major products/projects.
• Background in time-sensitive, high-transaction processing environments.
• Exceptional oral and written communication abilities.
• Capacity to work effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
• Comfort in a multi-cultural working environment.
• Proficient in object-oriented analysis and design (OOAD), including general design patterns and fundamental object-oriented patterns.
• Experience with a combination of C/C++, Java, Socket Programming, RPM Package Manager, auto-build tools, SQL, Oracle, DLL plug-in libraries in C++, pthreads, XML, XSLT, and ActiveMQ.
• Familiarity with open-source operating systems and development tools, as well as cloud-native architecture and virtualized deployment patterns.
• Prior supervisory experience is essential.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
• Capability to perform essential job functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Over 10 years of relevant experience in software engineering lifecycle processes, including architecture, development, performance engineering, QA, and automation.
• Relevant experience in Agile software lifecycle delivery.
• Strong technical expertise in SDLC, OOAD, C/C++, Java, SQL, XML, and ActiveMQ.
• Excellent communication skills with an executive presence.
• Ability to influence cross-functional and geographically distributed teams without formal authority.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time.
