This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead, manage, and expand the DevOps and Data Engineering teams.
• Offer technical guidance, mentorship, and career growth opportunities for six engineers.
• Cultivate technical leads within each team.
• Define and drive a cohesive platform roadmap in collaboration with the Director of Engineering and VP of Data.
• Balance investments in infrastructure, direction for the data platform, technical debt, and delivery requirements.
• Ensure a reliable, scalable, and secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Maintain efficient and smooth deployment pipelines for the engineering organization.
• Ensure the data platform adequately supports product engineering and analytics/data science teams.
• Establish clear standards for intake, prioritization, and data quality.
• Oversee monitoring, alerting, on-call responsibilities, and incident response.
• Manage the annual SOC2 audit and penetration testing cycles.
• Coordinate with auditors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Track and oversee remediation efforts.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps and data best practices into the software development lifecycle.
• Draft and collaborate on technical specifications.
• Review architectural designs and guide decision-making processes.
• Exemplify effective use of GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, and similar AI tools.
• Coach teams on practices involving AI-assisted development.
• Monitor and share progress, successes, and insights related to team-level AI adoption.
• Over 8 years of experience in software, infrastructure, or data engineering.
• More than 2 years of direct experience managing engineers.
• Extensive hands-on expertise in cloud infrastructure/DevOps or modern data engineering.
• Proficient working fluency in the other domain.
• Experience managing a team that serves multiple internal customers.
• Familiarity with security and compliance standards, such as SOC2.
• Proven experience in owning a compliance program from start to finish.
• Experience developing senior engineers into technical leaders.
• Experience in building team resilience through documentation, on-call health initiatives, and reducing single points of failure.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance immediate objectives with long-term goals.
• Capable of self-management and adaptability in a remote working environment.
• Demonstrated consistent use of AI coding assistants.
• Ability to assess AI outputs and determine when modifications or rejections are necessary.
• Understanding of the value AI tools can add compared to traditional methods.
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and guide others on AI development tools and practices.
