Engineering Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Take charge of engineering delivery, planning, estimation, and execution for the product pod.

• Collaborate with the pod owner to review PRDs, identify gaps, edge cases, and technical risks prior to the start of development.

• Facilitate technical discussions, question assumptions, and validate implementation strategies.

• Ensure reliable delivery while balancing speed, quality, and technical debt.

• Uphold engineering best practices, encompassing code reviews, testing, documentation, observability, security, and coding standards.

• Maintain production quality by leading root cause analysis and preventing recurring issues.

• Mentor engineers, enhance engineering discipline, and cultivate a culture of ownership and accountability.

• Work alongside QA, Design, DevOps, and other teams to eliminate blockers and guarantee successful releases.

• Conduct technical research for the pod on behalf of the pod owner.

• Deliver features punctually with high engineering quality.

• Enhance PRD readiness by identifying gaps early on.

• Challenge ineffective technical decisions and advocate for sound engineering practices.

• Minimize production defects and engineering rework.

• Increase estimation accuracy and delivery predictability.

• Foster a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

⛳️ Requirements

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.

• 2+ years in leading engineering teams or managing technical delivery.

• Extensive experience building modern Enterprise SaaS products.

• Strong grasp of software architecture and system design.

• Familiarity with cloud-native applications (AWS preferred).

• Experience with contemporary development practices, CI/CD, and automated testing.

• Solid understanding of Agile product development.

• Proficient in reviewing code and technical designs.

• Exceptional planning, estimation, and delivery management skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.

• Ability to balance business priorities with engineering quality.

• Experience leading cross-functional product teams (preferred).

• Familiarity with high-growth product startups (preferred).

• Knowledge of secure software development practices (preferred).

• Experience with observability, production monitoring, and incident management (preferred).

• Experience mentoring senior engineers and technical leads (preferred).

• Expertise with AI-assisted software development tools and workflows (preferred).

• Clear communication skills and the confidence to challenge and be challenged.
