This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee resources that support the FOS Core and Simplebid products.
• Propel feature development and incorporate new technologies and best practices into the architecture of mobile software and web applications.
• Align software engineering methodologies with business goals and industry benchmarks.
• Encourage innovation and uphold technical excellence.
• Collaborate with company executives and cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions.
• Define and communicate the technical vision and strategy for software products.
• Manage a scalable, robust, and secure application architecture.
• Promote coding standards, testing protocols, and DevOps best practices.
• Recruit, mentor, and retain engineering talent.
• Conduct performance evaluations and develop growth plans.
• Convert business requirements into technical solutions in coordination with engineering, product management, design, operations, and customer support teams.
• Collaborate with the Director of Software Engineering, Digital Products to develop architectural designs.
• Supervise microservices, cloud-based solutions, and API-driven development initiatives.
• Assess and integrate cutting-edge technologies, frameworks, and tools.
• Ensure timely project delivery within scope while maintaining high quality standards.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and code reviews.
• Monitor application performance, security, and reliability in line with SLAs and customer expectations.
• Stay updated on industry trends and encourage experimentation and prototyping.
• Enhance engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Ensure compliance of on-shore and off-shore software teams with industry standards and SOC 2 Type 1 and Type 2 requirements.
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• At least 12 years of relevant experience.
• An advanced degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Significant experience in managing engineering teams.
• Strong background in migrating legacy technology stacks to modern stacks for complex web-based applications and services.
• Demonstrated leadership experience in managing and scaling engineering teams and products in national markets.
• Comprehensive understanding of modern software architecture patterns, cloud computing, microservices, APIs, CI/CD, Git, and DevOps practices.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities.
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
• Knowledge of industry-standard management tools is required.
• Experience with Azure DevOps services and Microsoft Planner is preferred.
