
Senior Manager β Project Development

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
β’ Propel growth in pipeline and ensure success in utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.
β’ Collaborate with internal teams to formulate and implement annual objectives for ongoing projects, project development, and new project site selection.
β’ Oversee all facets of solar and storage project development.
β’ Manage project permitting throughout the entire development cycle.
β’ Assess transmission grids and land limitations and propose optimal new project locations to management.
β’ Coordinate with landowners, the internal Origis Land Team, and land consultants to secure chosen sites.
β’ Assist with early-stage interconnection applications and manage the associated processes.
β’ Assemble project teams utilizing Origis Tier 1 consultants for preliminary risk assessments.
β’ Aid in PPA negotiations and oversee client relations during the development phase.
β’ Organize and disseminate development documentation to the Investment, Finance, and Construction teams.
β’ Supervise vendors and project budgets using SAP.
β’ At least 7 years of experience in renewable energy project development for the Senior Project Development Manager role.
β’ A minimum of 10 years of renewable energy project development experience for the Director position.
β’ Extensive knowledge of the CAISO and WECC markets.
β’ Familiarity with three or more of the following: solar siting and land acquisition documentation; Federal, State & Local solar project permitting; interconnection study processes; clean energy financial modeling; technical insights into solar + storage projects; RFP assembly and response assistance; PPA negotiations support; project finance negotiations support; wholesale market/RTO market operations knowledge.
β’ BS and/or BA is required; MBA is preferred.
β’ Proficient in solar development tools, including PV Syst outputs, constrained project layouts, interconnection study results, permit studies, and financial models.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of the entire solar development process.
β’ Comfortable and experienced in negotiating with landowners.
β’ Proven experience in forming project development teams and managing consultants.
β’ Skilled in public presentations and leading third-party development relations.
β’ Capable of preparing project critical path analyses and recommendations.
β’ Experienced in reviewing and providing insights for financial models.
β’ In-depth knowledge of U.S. utility-scale solar and energy storage markets.
β’ Experienced with the interconnection process from application to LGIA finalization.
β’ Excellent communication skills.
