This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Cultivate and enhance relationships with significant donors across the Midwest.
• Oversee a portfolio of more than 125 major donors in essential Midwest markets.
• Secure gifts ranging from five to six figures and meet annual revenue objectives.
• Create and execute strategic plans for donor cultivation and solicitation.
• Act on prospective leads identified through research and referrals.
• Conduct in-person visits, virtual meetings, program site visits, and various donor interactions.
• Develop tailored strategies for donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Foster relationships with ASPCA program staff, communications team, and other internal stakeholders.
• Gain in-depth knowledge of ASPCA programs and facilities throughout the Midwest.
• Monitor donor engagement activities and keep precise records in portfolio files and Salesforce.
• Assist in creating stewardship materials and donor communications.
• Manage sensitive donor information and internal documents with discretion and professionalism.
• Act as the lead for the Advancement team in the Midwest and provide updates on internal programs.
• Support regional stewardship events for major donors and VIPs.
• Participate in revenue reporting, analysis, record keeping, special projects, and departmental priorities.
• Report directly to the Senior Director of Philanthropy – Western Region; no direct reports.
• A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience is mandatory.
• At least 3 years of professional fundraising experience, including major gifts, annual giving, mid-level donor programs, or donor relations.
• Experience in applying fundraising principles, encompassing donor cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
• Proven track record of cultivating and soliciting individual gifts of $5,000 or more.
• Experience in managing donor relationships and developing as well as implementing moves management strategies.
• Comprehensive understanding of fundraising principles, annual giving best practices, and donor stewardship/moves management.
• Ability to devise and implement innovative strategies to promote major gift opportunities.
• Excellent skills in relationship-building, collaboration, written and verbal communication, as well as public speaking.
• Strong research, critical thinking, analytical, project management, organizational, editing, influencing, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and fundraising databases is required; familiarity with Salesforce is preferred.
• Knowledge of Airtable and Canva is an advantage.
• Capacity to work autonomously and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Ability to embody ASPCA’s core values and behavioral competencies.
• Proficiency in English is required.
• Open to eligible candidates residing within the United States.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 30% annually, as necessary.
