This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Take full ownership of the end-to-end implementation for designated Strategic Meetings Management (SMM) clients, encompassing discovery, assessment, design, configuration, testing, training, and go-live phases.
• Act as the primary point of accountability for assigned SMM clients throughout the assessment, design, implementation, adoption, and optimization stages.
• Develop and sustain standardized SMM implementation playbooks and toolkits.
• Configure, test, and manage client SMM technology environments, including platforms like Cvent or similar alternatives.
• Foster meeting capture and program adoption via stakeholder communication and change-management initiatives.
• Enhance program visibility for smaller and simpler meetings through tiered intake processes and self-service tools.
• Ensure SMM data integrity and reporting, which includes data standards, taxonomy, dashboards, and management information.
• Lead ongoing program governance, operational reviews, adoption checkpoints, and policy refresh cycles.
• Identify and implement portfolio optimization opportunities involving policies, suppliers, sourcing, payment, reconciliation, automation, and AI-driven sourcing/RFP capabilities.
• Integrate duty-of-care and data-governance requirements within SMM programs.
• Keep program documentation, policies, SOPs, process maps, configuration records, and training materials up to date.
• Coordinate cross-functional delivery with departments such as Sourcing, Planning, Registration, Technology, Finance, and Account Management.
• Maintain a prioritized portfolio view, including capacity forecasting and workload management.
• Establish, monitor, and report on program-level KPIs and SLAs while taking ownership of corrective actions.
• Potentially recruit, onboard, mentor, manage performance, and develop members of the SMM program support team.
• Allocate and adjust team workloads, make sequencing decisions, and cross-train team members.
• A bachelor's degree in business, travel, operations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in operations within a travel management company.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior operational leadership position overseeing leaders and multi-functional teams.
• Proven experience in managing global projects and service delivery across various regions.
• Demonstrated capability in leading large-scale operational changes, process improvements, technology adoption, and managing multi-site or remote teams.
• Strong commercial and financial insight, including experience with budgets, forecasts, productivity management, and profit enhancement.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Basic understanding of accounting principles and statistical knowledge.
• Familiarity with global operations.
• Strategic and operational leadership skills that translate business goals into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
• Experience in developing and executing efficient business processes, service models, and change initiatives across various locations.
• A strong customer-centric approach with a deep understanding of the corporate travel sector.
• Capability to analyze operational, financial, and productivity data for informed decision-making.
• Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication abilities.
• Aptitude for analyzing data, such as agent productivity reports.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Capacity to meet deadlines and prioritize multiple requests simultaneously.
