Senior Manager, Data Science – AI for BI

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.

📋 Description

• Guide team members through coaching, mentoring, training, performance management, and career progression.

• Oversee the delivery and execution of data science, artificial intelligence, and advanced analytics projects.

• Spearhead the implementation and enhancement of AI for business intelligence and conversational analytics capabilities, including natural language querying, AI-assisted reporting, insight discovery, and self-service analytics.

• Supervise the development, deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of machine learning, predictive analytics, generative AI, and optimization models.

• Set and uphold standards for responsible AI, model lifecycle management, model monitoring, and analytics governance.

• Collaborate with business and technology partners to discover opportunities for advanced analytics, AI, and automation.

• Lead proof-of-concept initiatives, pilot programs, and assessments of emerging technologies and analytical methodologies.

• Create and sustain analytics frameworks, standards, and reusable assets.

• Manage analytics platforms, tools, and processes to ensure reliability, performance, data quality, and user engagement.

• Direct advanced statistical analyses and convert complex insights into actionable recommendations.

• Collaborate with data engineering, business intelligence, and technology teams on data readiness, model performance, and deployment strategies.

• Manage and develop data scientists, analysts, and associated technical professionals.

• Influence cross-functional stakeholders regarding analytics best practices, governance, and data-driven decision-making.

• Provide subject matter expertise and strategic recommendations to leadership.

• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and evolving analytics practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven expertise in machine learning, advanced statistical modeling, predictive analytics, optimization techniques, and artificial intelligence.

• Experience in developing and operationalizing AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics solutions within enterprise settings.

• Strong understanding of generative AI technologies, large language models, conversational AI, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), and AI-enabled analytics platforms.

• Ability to influence executive stakeholders and articulate complex analytical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in establishing AI governance frameworks, responsible AI practices, and model risk management protocols.

• Demonstrated capability to lead cross-functional teams and promote organizational adoption of data-driven decision-making.

• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related quantitative discipline required.

• Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, or a related field preferred.

• A minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in data science, analytics, machine learning, or artificial intelligence roles required.

• Prior leadership experience managing analytics, AI, or data science teams, including senior-level professionals required.

• Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-scale AI and analytics initiatives from strategy through to implementation and adoption.

• Proficiency in SQL, Python, R, and modern machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, and LangChain or similar technologies.

• Familiarity with cloud-based analytics and AI platforms.

• Strong experience with enterprise business intelligence and analytics platforms such as Power BI and Tableau.

• Experience with AI-enabled analytics, conversational analytics, natural language query technologies, and generative AI solutions.

• Knowledge of MLOps, model deployment pipelines, and AI governance frameworks.
