This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York, +1 more state.
• Oversee the overall legal strategy and governance.
• Offer solutions to key stakeholders and various business units.
• Assist senior legal personnel with special projects, licensing and permitting operations, and other legal issues.
• Support transactional due diligence and conduct legal analysis for potential mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, and other strategic initiatives.
• Draft, negotiate, analyze, summarize, and ensure the completion of agreements related to hospitality, venue-level operations, merchandise, sponsorship, sales, and marketing.
• Prepare and negotiate agreements for locations, subcontractors, licensing, independent contractors, temporary staffing, consulting, and services.
• Aid in negotiations and documentation related to vendor and supplier relationships at the venue level.
• Ensure adherence to contractual obligations and provide guidance on contract interpretation to stakeholders.
• Advise on matters concerning intellectual property, trademark usage, IP licensing, advertising/marketing, and brand protection.
• Manage departmental workflow and daily assignments.
• Research emerging and local regulations, best practices, and operational challenges; prepare internal memos and recommendations.
• Evaluate, draft, and revise company policies as needed.
• Assist with the filing and administration of statutory and local licenses.
• Supervise staff, including interviewing, hiring, training, allocating work, appraising performance, and resolving issues.
• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Licensed to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 4-6 years of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably with transactional and in-house experience.
• Proven experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, particularly in hospitality, venue management, sponsorship, merchandise, licensing, and other service contracts.
• Preferred familiarity with intellectual property concepts, including trademark protection, IP licensing, and franchise/licensing agreements as well as brand management.
• Capacity to work efficiently and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment with frequent interruptions and tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills to effectively deliver legal counsel to all internal corporate departments and specific venues.
• Exceptional negotiation and writing abilities.
• Strong competency in drafting and reviewing legal documents and analyzing complex issues.
• Capability to design and implement scalable systems and tools, including playbooks, standard operating procedures, and repeatable frameworks.
