Senior Machine Learning Manager, Video Ranking

📋 Description

• Establish the technical vision and long-term strategy for Feed Relevance, ensuring alignment of machine learning solutions with Reddit’s product and business goals.

• Mentor and facilitate the growth of the machine learning team.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to pinpoint opportunities, set expectations, and effectively communicate the team’s initiatives.

• Manage the design, development, and enhancement of relevance, discovery, and content distribution systems.

• Work alongside platform and infrastructure teams to innovate next-generation AI-powered solutions.

• Uphold high standards for system performance, reliability, efficiency, and responsible AI practices.

• Collaborate with recruitment to attract, interview, and onboard machine learning engineers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of experience in building and leading high-performing machine learning teams.

• Practical experience with large-scale production machine learning systems.

• Familiarity with transformer-based architectures, sequence models, or Large Language Models (LLMs).

• Deep understanding of recommender systems, encompassing candidate retrieval, ranking, value modeling, ecosystem dynamics, and measurement strategies.

• Capability to develop and convey technical strategies that align with organizational objectives.

• Proficiency in creating scalable, well-structured, and responsible AI solutions.

• Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills.

• Aptitude for explaining complex technical subjects to varied audiences.

• Ability to foster relationships with cross-functional partners.
