Senior Machine Learning Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Croatia.

📋 Description

• Design and develop essential machine learning systems for an innovative, forward-thinking AI platform

• Manage projects from start to finish, encompassing data curation, model training, evaluation, inference, and ongoing iteration

• Transform advanced research ideas into stable, reliable production systems

• Utilize live production signals and data to diagnose model anomalies and identify system bottlenecks

• Implement systems, assess real-world performance metrics, refine methodologies, and iterate swiftly

• Work collaboratively with research, engineering, and product teams to align technical milestones with user benefits

• Guide fellow engineers and perform thorough code and technical assessments

• Enhance model architectures considering latency, computational cost, system reliability, and safety at scale

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a Machine Learning position

• Proficiency in Python

• Familiarity with PyTorch and/or JAX

• Experience with GPU-based training and inference systems

• Proven experience in building, deploying, and sustaining machine learning systems in real-world applications

• Strong practical knowledge of contemporary ML model behavior and potential failure modes in production

• Capability to address model edge cases

• A history of writing clean, robust, production-quality code

• An architectural mindset that goes beyond mere scripting

• High level of self-motivation and initiative

• Demonstrated ability to independently manage intricate technical projects from inception to deployment

• Quick to grasp new concepts

• Proficient in articulating technical trade-offs effectively
