Senior Looker Developer, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Spain.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of and enhance Power Digital's enterprise LookML semantic layer, serving as the governed foundation for analytics across the organization and its clients.

• Develop scalable and high-performing LookML with comprehensive metadata tailored for conversational analytics applications.

• Convert vague stakeholder and client requests into actionable technical solutions.

• Design and refine Looker assets for scalable, reusable self-service analytics.

• Create data products in Looker for internal stakeholders and clients, applying data visualization and UI/UX best practices.

• Collaborate with Analytics Engineering to fine-tune the aggregate layer and optimize queries.

• Implement and manage LookML across various Looker instances.

• Maintain the LookML style guide and naming standards.

• Provide training and support for users transitioning to self-service analytics.

• Mentor junior developers and analysts.

• Utilize AI technologies to enhance team effectiveness and efficiency.

• Establish a source of truth for metric definitions and support Conversational Analytics and AI-driven queries.

• Deliver prioritized Looker data products for both client and internal projects.

• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in production data products.

⛳️ Requirements

• Advanced proficiency in spoken and written English is essential.

• At least 4 years of experience managing the complete lifecycle of production-grade LookML models and data products.

• Advanced SQL skills with a modern cloud data warehouse; Snowflake and BigQuery preferred.

• Strong understanding of dimensional modeling and the fundamentals of data warehousing.

• Experience in an agency setting, particularly in performance marketing analytics.

• Comfortable with measurement, channels, and the fast-paced multi-client environment of a digital marketing agency serving eCommerce and B2B clients.

• Proven experience in deploying and governing LookML across multiple Looker instances.

• Familiarity with extensible LookML and modular visualizations in a multi-tenant context.

• Experience in mentoring and developing junior team members.

• Knowledge of Git-based version control and CI/CD workflows.

• Exceptional communication and presentation capabilities.

• Preferred: Experience with LLM query routing, Conversational Analytics or natural-language BI tools, Claude Code or similar coding tools, and dbt or equivalent analytics engineering experience.
