Developer Analyst, COBOL

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.

• Support development teams in their activities related to the z/OS operating system.

• Offer assistance for z/OS utilities.

⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma is required.

• Proficiency in programming with Enterprise COBOL 4.0 or later.

• Familiarity with the IBM platform, including z/OS, DB2, CICS, JCL, TSO, MainView, Strobe, Control-M, Xpediter, Abend-Aid, File-Aid, Endevor, SDF II, Eccox or similar tools, IBM Sterling Connect:Direct for z/OS, Rational Developer for z Systems (RDz) or similar tools, and MQ Series.

• Understanding of online and batch applications (balanced line), CICS, TSO, JCL (such as sort and IDCAMS), DB2 and/or CA-IDMS relational databases, VSAM files (KSDS/ESDS), dump analysis, and Endevor usage.

• Experience working as an analyst on mainframe platforms.

• Background in developing CICS transactions (multithreading).

• Knowledge of relational database modeling and database performance analysis.

• Development experience with DB2 Native Stored Procedures.

• Familiarity with service-oriented architecture (SOA).

• Understanding of code quality and mainframe application performance analysis.

• Experience utilizing CICS, CICS/WEB, Broker, and MQ Series access interfaces.

• Knowledge of CICS structures, including their definitions and configurations.

• Skills in business modeling using CA Gen 8 or higher.
