Senior Legal Counsel

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida, +3 more states.

📋 Description

• Offer legal guidance and counsel to management on a wide array of legal and business issues.

• Oversee disputes as required.

• Draft, evaluate, and negotiate intricate commercial agreements and contracts spanning various business units.

• Engage in risk assessments and aid in risk management efforts in alignment with company policies.

• Spot emerging legal challenges and devise practical legal strategies and solutions that align with business objectives.

• Assist with corporate governance activities and the enforcement of the Code of Conduct, integrity initiatives, and related programs.

• Coordinate and oversee outside legal counsel.

• Provide legal training and awareness sessions for employees and business stakeholders.

• Keep track of relevant laws, regulations, and policies, advising on compliance and the safeguarding of business interests and reputation.

• Ensure adherence to all relevant external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

• Collaborate closely with business leaders and legal colleagues across different regions and business units to create effective legal strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Applicants must possess work authorization that allows them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association.

• Admission to the North Carolina Bar or another State Bar.

• Minimum of 8 years of experience directly related to the role's responsibilities.

• Substantial experience in providing legal counsel on product liability issues and commercial litigation.

• Experience with global legal matters is preferred.

• Strong legal acumen and a comprehensive understanding of business principles.

• Ability to evaluate risk and suggest practical solutions.

• Exceptional written, interpersonal, and communication skills.

• Capability to influence stakeholders, cultivate professional relationships, and operate effectively within a complex, multicultural, matrixed environment.
