Senior Counsel, EPC & Operations

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Prepare, assess, and negotiate contracts related to equipment supply, EPC, and associated services in collaboration with internal legal, commercial, and technical teams, as well as external legal counsel.

• Oversee multiple transactions simultaneously.

• Provide support to Execution, Operations, and Asset Management teams during the phases of project construction and ongoing operations.

• Offer legal assistance to cross-functional teams regarding regulatory compliance and strategic legal frameworks.

• Engage in negotiations directly with suppliers, EPCs, operators, and various other parties.

• Supervise and manage external legal counsel across a diverse array of issues.

• Identify and relay significant risks along with suggested solutions to executives and team leaders.

• Streamline templates and processes to enhance efficiency and compliance while implementing best practices.

• Manage the procurement of major equipment, long-term service agreements, EPC contracts, balance-of-plant O&M agreements, contract disputes, change orders, and compliance issues.

⛳️ Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

• Active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction.

• Over 5 years of post-qualification legal experience.

• Proven experience in the procurement, construction, and operation of utility-scale battery energy storage projects.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex transactions and prioritize effectively.

• Capacity to take charge of deals and ensure timely execution and follow-up.

• Strong proficiency in computer applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

• Excellent organizational and planning abilities with a keen eye for detail.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong interpersonal and diplomatic skills.

• Commitment to the highest standards of ethics and integrity.
