Senior Lead, Software Engineering – Workday HCM Compensation Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Offer functional expertise and leadership in the design, development, and execution of Workday HR solutions.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to create and implement Workday Compensation and Advanced Compensation solutions.

• Support the Workday Compensation capability area and contribute to HCM Core, Staffing/Onboarding, Benefits, Talent Management, and Recruiting.

• Work alongside the Compensation/Total Rewards Team to design and execute complex global annual merit and bonus cycles.

• Analyze, design, develop, and deliver functional modifications and enhancements to Workday HR systems and tools.

• Act as a Workday Subject Matter Expert (SME) and engage in Workday Releases.

• Oversee annual compensation administration, including merit and incentive processes.

• Maintain salary administration, job structure, total compensation structure, eligibility, communication, and training.

• Configure, test, and manage annual Workday processes such as Performance Reviews and Compensation cycles.

• Develop and sustain dashboards for business leaders.

• Audit system data for accuracy and serve as the primary reviewer for data entry.

• Plan and coordinate departmental preparations for significant system updates.

• Serve as the main support contact for user inquiries and manage identified issues.

• Translate business and technical requirements into architectural blueprints and identify solutions for Workday product gaps.

• Provide global coverage across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC regions.


⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s or advanced certifications preferred).

• Over 7 years of hands-on experience as a Workday SME configuring and maintaining HCM Core and Advanced Compensation modules.

• Proven experience in leading Core and Advanced Compensation cycles in Workday.

• Experience in executing multiple Workday HCM implementations.

• Exceptional customer service and communication skills to engage with executive leadership and clients.

• Strong communication skills to interpret business needs into system configuration.

• Comprehensive knowledge of HR processes and touchpoints in HCM, payroll, benefits, time tracking, recruiting, and security.

• Experience in supporting HCM Core, Staffing/Onboarding, Benefits, Talent Management, and Recruiting.

• Workday Core HR certification.

• Workday Compensation certification.

• Experience as a solution architect in a large-scale environment is preferred.

• Familiarity with global coverage and supporting stakeholders across multiple regions is preferred.
