Senior Lead, Software Engineering Specialist – Workday Time Tracking, Absence

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Design, configure, test, and implement Workday Time Tracking and Absence solutions.

• Act as a subject matter expert for Workday Time Tracking and Absence functionalities.

• Take ownership of solution design, configuration, testing, and deployment in alignment with global business needs.

• Collaborate with HR, Payroll, downstream teams, integration partners, and technical teams.

• Convert business requirements into effective Workday configuration solutions.

• Provide guidance on best practices and assess impacts across related domains.

• Ensure that solutions are sustainable, supportable, accurate, compliant, and scalable.

• Assist with daily operations and adapt to evolving business requirements.

• Diagnose and implement configuration changes in live Workday systems.

• Evaluate end-to-end impacts throughout the Hire-to-Retire lifecycle.

• Manage competing priorities and drive tasks to completion with minimal supervision.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 7 years of practical Workday configuration experience, with extensive knowledge of Time Tracking and Absence.

• Capability to independently design and deliver Workday configuration solutions from initial requirements through to deployment.

• Strong comprehension of time, absence, and payroll-related business processes, including their downstream impacts.

• Experience in supporting production Workday environments, including troubleshooting and configuration adjustments in active systems.

• Background in supporting global or multi-country Workday deployments.

• Familiarity with Workday business process frameworks, security considerations, and reporting implications related to Time and Absence.

• Ability to transform business requirements into scalable and supportable Workday solutions utilizing best-practice configuration methodologies.

• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills within an enterprise, cross-functional setting.

• Preferred: experience configuring additional Workday functional areas such as Compensation, Benefits, or Projects.

• Preferred: experience working within a matrixed or global team environment.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems, HRIS, or a related field (preferred).
