Senior Lead Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure systems and APIs that support real-time, always-on applications utilized by millions.

• Take ownership of the complete development lifecycle, from conceptualizing feature architecture to breaking down workstreams and overseeing implementation.

• Produce high-performance, thoroughly tested code while establishing standards for reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

• Create and uphold best practices in system design, code quality, testing strategies, and performance monitoring.

• Act as the first responder for owned systems by triaging, debugging, and resolving intricate production issues.

• Work collaboratively with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to ensure technical execution aligns with business priorities.

• Mentor and nurture engineers at various levels of experience.

• Influence the technical roadmap, drive strategic decisions, and promote ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a relevant combination of education, experience, and training.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in backend development using object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java.

• Advanced expertise in software architecture, OOP principles, and scalable system design.

• Proficiency in designing and constructing distributed systems within cloud environments such as AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Strong understanding of contemporary cloud-native architectures.

• Proven history of building resilient, high-performance systems supported by comprehensive automated test coverage, including unit, integration, and performance tests.

• Demonstrated capability in leading technical direction, performing code and design reviews, and influencing architectural decisions across engineering teams.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and fostering an environment conducive to growth, learning, and high performance.

• A strong emphasis on engineering excellence, with a proactive approach to enhancing system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

• A steadfast commitment to promoting best practices in development processes, testing strategies, and system monitoring.

• May need to obtain a gaming license issued by the appropriate state agency as a condition of employment.
