Software Engineer, Go

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Choose tasks from a pre-approved selection of Go repositories linked to specific git commits.

• Investigate repositories along with relevant pull-request or issue histories to gain insights into the subsystem.

• Reformulate engineering questions to effectively challenge coding agents while ensuring they remain clear and answerable.

• Modify rubrics and distractions to incentivize correct reasoning and dismiss plausible but incorrect answers.

• Execute the complete validation cycle in Mercor Studio: Check, Golden, Run, Analyze.

• Document your work in the task README.

• Submit tasks for expert evaluation and incorporate feedback from reviewers.

• Create datasets for AI agents to analyze and reason about unfamiliar production Go repositories.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience.

• Significant experience with Go in production environments.

• Capability to navigate large, unfamiliar Go codebases and articulate runtime behavior.

• Proficient understanding of Go concurrency, interfaces, module boundaries, and the standard library.

• Comfortable interpreting generated code and utilizing build tools.

• Experience with distributed systems, networking, storage engines, or Kubernetes-related tools is highly relevant.

• Excellent written English skills.

• Proficient with git at the commit level, containerized environments, and command-line tools.

• Completion of identity verification and background check.

• Signed Terms of Work and CIIAA.

• Submission of a tax form.

• Successful completion of a brief calibration quiz prior to gaining task access.

• Submission of a resume or relevant technical background.

• May be required to finish a short technical assessment or provide additional information.
