Senior Lead Software Engineer, Backend

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and sustain scalable and secure systems and APIs that drive real-time, always-on applications utilized by millions.

• Take ownership of the entire development lifecycle, from defining the architecture of new features to deconstructing workstreams and directing implementation.

• Produce high-performance, thoroughly tested code and establish standards for reliability, scalability, and operational excellence.

• Establish and maintain best practices in system design, code quality, testing methodologies, and performance monitoring.

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and promptly resolve complex production issues for systems managed by the team.

• Work collaboratively across teams with Product, Design, and Engineering to ensure technical execution aligns with business objectives.

• Guide and develop engineers at various levels.

• Shape the technical roadmap, influence strategic choices, and promote ownership, innovation, and continuous learning.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant combination of education, experience, and training.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in backend development utilizing object-oriented programming languages such as C# or Java.

• Advanced knowledge in software architecture, object-oriented programming (OOP) principles, and scalable system design.

• Proficiency in designing and developing distributed systems within cloud environments like AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

• Strong grasp of modern cloud-native architectures.

• Proven history of creating resilient, high-performance systems supported by comprehensive automated test coverage, including unit, integration, and performance testing.

• Demonstrated leadership in establishing technical direction, performing code and design reviews, and influencing architectural decisions across engineering teams.

• Experience in mentoring engineers and fostering an environment conducive to growth, learning, and high performance.

• Strong emphasis on engineering excellence, with a proactive approach to enhancing system reliability, scalability, and maintainability.

• Deep commitment to best practices in development processes, testing methodologies, and system monitoring.

• May be required to acquire a gaming license issued by the relevant state agency as a condition of employment.
