Senior Lead, Insurance Compliance & Regulatory

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete investigation and resolution process for significant customer complaints.

• Act as the ultimate escalation point for intricate issues.

• Supervise carrier audits and manage workflows related to state regulatory complaints.

• Draft, review, and finalize official communications to state departments of insurance, carrier partners, and consumers.

• Collaborate with Legal, Product, and Engineering teams to translate audit outcomes and complaint patterns into product modifications, automated checks, and process improvements.

• Manage the complaint log and associated workflows, ensuring accurate and audit-ready documentation.

• Adhere to statutory timelines and internal service level agreements (SLAs).

• Act as the primary operational contact for carrier partners during claims investigations, regulatory inquiries, and information audits.

• Provide operational guidance, quality oversight, and subject-matter expertise to customer service, compliance, and claims support teams.

• Track regulatory correspondence, complaint trends, and resolution timelines.

• Update leadership on developing compliance risk areas.

⛳️ Requirements

• Must possess an active Property & Casualty (P&C) license or be willing to obtain one promptly.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in the insurance sector.

• At least 3 years of experience in state insurance and regulatory compliance.

• Preferred 2+ years in a team lead, managerial, or supervisory position.

• Demonstrated experience in managing state regulatory inquiries (DOI complaints) and carrier audit relationships.

• Familiarity with NAIC model regulations, state insurance codes, and market conduct examination standards.

• Capability to convert regulatory requirements into operational policies and practices at the team level.

• Outstanding written and verbal communication abilities suitable for executive-level interactions.

• Strong attention to detail in legal and compliance matters.

• Excellent analytical skills and experience in utilizing data for cross-functional product and operational enhancements.

• Candidates must currently live in an eligible U.S. state or Ontario, Canada.
