Senior IT Project Manager – Infrastructure Carve-out

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Oversee and manage intricate IT infrastructure carve-outs, encompassing analysis and technical separation through to migration and transition into operations.

• Facilitate the separation and migration of networks, data centers, along with file and storage services.

• Handle Active Directory and domain migrations, Microsoft Entra ID, as well as Identity & Access Management.

• Organize the migration of Microsoft 365, Azure services, Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams.

• Coordinate network separation and secure access solutions, such as PKI or Zscaler, in collaboration with infrastructure and security leaders.

• Strategize the logical isolation of divested companies and manage IT service delivery throughout the transition phase.

• Oversee technical dependencies linked to the separation and migration of applications and data.

• Collaborate with international stakeholders, IT service providers, and the receiving IT organization.

• Manage project budgets, resources, timelines, quality, and risks, along with providing regular status updates.

• Independently direct the project and coordinate both internal specialists and external service providers during the transition to operations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Several years of experience in leading international IT infrastructure projects, preferably acquired through similar freelance or consulting roles.

• Demonstrated project experience with IT carve-outs, infrastructure separations, and complex migrations.

• Strong comprehension of networks, data centers, cloud infrastructure, identity services, and IT security.

• Experience in managing Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure, and Microsoft 365 from a project management perspective.

• Proven capability to coordinate interdisciplinary teams and external technology and service partners.

• Self-motivated and organized approach to work, with the ability to rapidly adapt to complex project environments.

• Confident in communicating with technical contacts and management stakeholders.

• Excellent proficiency in English.

• PMP certification or a similar project management qualification is preferred.

• Experience in the energy sector or with utility companies is preferred.

• Familiarity with IT service management and transitioning infrastructure services into operations is preferred.

• Experience with traditional and agile methodologies, along with tools such as MS Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, or Confluence is preferred.

• Proficiency in the German language and additional European languages is preferred.
