This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.
• Serve as the primary operational escalation contact for the Services team.
• Assume technical leadership during significant incidents: guide diagnosis, determine actions, and keep leadership updated.
• Safely implement complex changes that exceed established standards, ensuring a rollback plan is in place.
• Restore environments to standard conditions and maintain their integrity.
• Conduct post-incident reviews aimed at enhancing standards, runbooks, or automation processes.
• Intentionally develop Tier 2 analysts.
• Oversee migrations, server and cloud transitions, as well as new customer onboarding procedures.
• Apply Workplace OS layers according to established standards.
• Confirm that delivered environments are operable by the team and ensure proper handover.
• Hold the authority to halt deliverables that may lead to long-term support challenges.
• A minimum of five years experience supporting and engineering Microsoft environments, particularly in a managed services or multi-customer context.
• Proven track record of owning complex problems from start to finish.
• Demonstrated experience executing changes in production without incidents.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Defender, and Purview fundamentals.
• Extensive understanding of Entra ID and Active Directory, covering hybrid identity, authentication flows, and Conditional Access.
• Proficient in Windows Server technologies: AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, and certificates.
• Knowledge of Azure infrastructure components: virtual machines, networking, storage, backup, Site Recovery, governance, and cost management.
• Practical understanding of security measures: MFA, Conditional Access, endpoint protection, patch and vulnerability management, Zero Trust, and familiarity with CIS.
• Ability to troubleshoot networking issues; experience with Cisco Meraki and Barracuda is particularly relevant.
• Proficient in PowerShell for administration and automation tasks.
• Experience in backup, continuity, and disaster recovery, including designing and validating effective solutions.
• Valued certifications include Microsoft endpoint and administrator paths, SC series, AZ-104, AZ-305, and AZ-500.
