Senior IREG & Network Test Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in India.

📋 Description

• Formulate detailed IREG testing strategies, pass/fail metrics, network tracing protocols, and official approval processes for partner MNOs.

• Conduct comprehensive roaming validation encompassing network registration, attach sequences, S6a/S6d authentication, SGd SMS-over-NAS, and IP/NIDD data paths.

• Implement GSMA-defined roaming test suites.

• Create tailored validation test cases for Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN).

• Develop and sustain an automation test framework and lab for GSMA and Skylo-specific routing scenarios.

• Examine Diameter/SS7 traces, device logs, and network logs to identify configuration problems across Skylo, IPX, and MNO domains.

• Transform production and onboarding failures into reproducible regression test cases.

• Oversee defect management through root cause analysis, remediation, and retesting.

• Generate dashboards for test coverage, validation cycle time, defect rates, and market readiness.

• Collaborate with internal Signaling, Routing, Billing, NOC, and Product teams, as well as external IPX vendors and MNO testing teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in roaming validation, mobile core operations, interconnect routing, IREG testing, or telecommunications network testing.

• Strong comprehension of Diameter routing and pertinent SS7/MAP concepts, including S6a/S6d, SGd, and roaming authentication/registration processes.

• Advanced skills in protocol troubleshooting.

• Proficient in analyzing Wireshark traces for diagnosing failures involving multiple external entities.

• Demonstrated experience in designing automated telecommunications testing frameworks using Python or similar programming languages.

• Experience in integrating testing frameworks with contemporary CI/CD practices.

• Full proficiency in handling IR.21/RAEX data profiles, PLMN structures, IMSI records, and TADIG codes.

• Hands-on experience with NB-IoT, NTN satellite architectures, NIDD data paths, or cellular device-lab environments.

• Familiarity with IMSI tracing tools, carrier-grade Diameter/SS7 diagnostic platforms, Jira, and Confluence.

• Direct experience in integrating network signaling validation with TAP/BCE billing verification.
