This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Maryland.
β’ Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality production iOS applications utilizing Swift, SwiftUI, and contemporary Apple frameworks.
β’ Act as a senior technical contributor on mobile initiatives, providing guidance on implementation strategies, architecture, code quality, and engineering best practices.
β’ Collaborate with engineers, designers, project managers, QA engineers, and clients to convert requirements into effective technical solutions.
β’ Contribute to Android applications using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose as project needs arise.
β’ Work across both iOS and Android codebases by implementing features, addressing defects, reviewing code, troubleshooting issues, and supporting release processes.
β’ Establish a consistent architecture, functionality, and user experiences between iOS and Android platforms.
β’ Research and assess frameworks, libraries, platform capabilities, and relevant technologies.
β’ Engage in discovery, technical planning, estimation, implementation, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
β’ Produce detailed estimates of effort for tasks and contribute to technical planning and project forecasting.
β’ Monitor project budgets and timelines, remaining accountable for assigned deliverables.
β’ Participate in peer code reviews and offer constructive feedback.
β’ Share technical expertise to resolve complex challenges.
β’ Enhance engineering processes, development practices, application architecture, and team productivity.
β’ Ensure projects adhere to Mindgrub engineering standards and development protocols.
β’ Communicate with clients regarding technical requirements, project updates, technical decisions, and issue resolution.
β’ Mentor and support engineers through code reviews, collaborative work, technical discussions, and knowledge sharing.
β’ Participate in the interviewing and evaluation of engineering candidates.
β’ Maintain up-to-date expertise in the evolving landscape of iOS and Android technologies and practices.
β’ Must possess authorization to work in the United States.
β’ Remote position; hours from 9:00am to 5:00pm EST; anticipated 40 hours per week.
β’ Contract from October 2026 through September 2027 with a possibility of extension.
β’ Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in iOS development, with considerable recent experience in building and maintaining production applications using Swift.
β’ Recent hands-on experience in developing native applications for both iOS and Android platforms.
β’ Strong, current proficiency in Swift and SwiftUI, including the development of production user interfaces with SwiftUI and integration with UIKit where applicable.
β’ In-depth knowledge of the current iOS SDK, Xcode, application lifecycle, concurrency, networking, data persistence, debugging, performance optimization, automated testing, dependency management, and Apple code signing and distribution.
β’ Hands-on professional experience in Android development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose.
β’ Familiarity with Android Studio, Jetpack libraries, Compose-based UI development, application architecture, coroutines, Gradle, networking, persistence, testing, and application publishing.
β’ Ability to independently navigate, comprehend, debug, and contribute significant production code to both modern iOS and Android codebases.
β’ Understanding of declarative UI development, including state management, navigation, application architecture, lifecycle, and platform-specific UI conventions.
β’ Experience in designing or contributing to maintainable mobile application architectures.
β’ Knowledge of iOS and Android application architecture, lifecycle, platform capabilities, accessibility, performance characteristics, and release processes.
β’ Experience in consuming RESTful APIs and integrating mobile applications with backend services and third-party SDKs.
β’ Familiarity with Git-based development workflows, continuous integration, automated testing, and mobile application release procedures.
β’ Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities across mobile applications, APIs, and third-party integrations.
β’ Excellent communication skills with engineers, project teams, clients, and other stakeholders.
β’ Capability to work independently within multidisciplinary project teams.
β’ Ability to attend meetings either digitally or in person as necessary.
