Senior Infrastructure/Automation Architect – Automation, PowerShell, Python, Terraform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Arizona.

📋 Description

• Oversee the modernization of Windows Server and hybrid infrastructure platforms utilizing automation, standardization, and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.

• Evaluate, improve, and modernize outdated automation frameworks, scripts, and deployment pipelines.

• Create, develop, and deploy automation solutions leveraging PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform, Harness, and CI/CD tools.

• Design and automate the Windows Server lifecycle management processes, such as deployment, configuration management, patching, security hardening, and operating system upgrades.

• Facilitate technical and architectural conversations with senior client stakeholders, engineers, and platform teams.

• Convert business requirements into actionable engineering solutions.

• Deliver senior-level engineering support across Windows, Linux, virtualization, cloud, and infrastructure platforms.

• Set engineering standards, documentation protocols, and operational best practices.

• Collaborate with client teams to outline modernization roadmaps and achieve measurable business and operational results.

⛳️ Requirements

• Extensive experience in Windows Server engineering (preferably Windows Server 2019 and 2025).

• Proficient in PowerShell development, including the creation of automation frameworks and pipelines.

• Skilled in Python for infrastructure automation and operational tools.

• Practical experience with Ansible, Terraform, Harness, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.

• Background in designing, managing, and modernizing CI/CD and infrastructure deployment pipelines.

• Experience in assessing and refining legacy automation codebases, enhancing documentation, and establishing engineering standards.

• Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy, SCCM/MECM, Windows CIS security baselines, and automated system hardening.

• Experience with automation integration using VMware vSphere 8 and 9 for system deployment.

• Proven track record in leading architecture reviews, technical workshops, and discussions at the executive level with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Excellent troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and consulting skills.

• Experience in Linux administration and automation (preferred but not essential).

• Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting and presenting technical solutions.

• Ability to work collaboratively in team-based environments with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Highly organized with the capability to manage multiple projects in dynamic settings.

• Willingness to travel if necessary.
