Senior Infrastructure Engineer, DevOps

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece.

📋 Description

• Take ownership of the cloud platform, CI/CD pipelines, and internal developer platforms.

• Develop, scale, and strengthen global cloud infrastructure for mission-critical, high-throughput payment applications while ensuring zero downtime.

• Design, construct, and enhance high-availability AWS infrastructure managed via infrastructure as code (IaC).

• Lead the modernization and scaling of continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines.

• Create self-service platforms and Golden Paths that facilitate safe, autonomous, and rapid production deployments.

• Implement self-healing infrastructure using GitOps methodologies, automation scripts, and reproducible environment templates.

• Configure and maintain telemetry tools including Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.

• Participate in on-call rotations and conduct blameless post-mortems.

• Integrate security guardrails and compliance practices into deployment workflows.

• Ensure that cloud security, API gateways, and network isolation are consistently enforced as code.

• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to promote platform adoption.

• Mentor mid-level and junior engineers in SRE, DevOps, and cloud-native practices.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of practical experience in DevOps, Platform Engineering, or Infrastructure roles.

• Proven experience managing complex, large-scale distributed systems in mission-critical settings.

• Advanced proficiency with Kubernetes (EKS), Docker, and GitOps deployment workflows such as ArgoCD, Flux, and GitHub Actions.

• Demonstrated success in building, optimizing, and securing automated CI/CD deployment pipelines.

• Strong coding and scripting skills in Python, Go, or Bash.

• Hands-on experience in implementing comprehensive telemetry and monitoring stacks utilizing Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar tools.

• A strong desire to eliminate manual inefficiencies, automate repetitive tasks, and address complex platform challenges comprehensively.

• Experience with tokenization, payment processing, or security products.

• BA/BS degree is a plus.

• Experience managing Kafka (MSK) or high-concurrency database systems under substantial load.

• Practical experience integrating AI developer tools, agentic workflows, or automated testing within CI/CD pipelines.

• Solid understanding of PCI-DSS, SOC2, or ISO27001 frameworks.
