Senior Infrastructure Consultant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise infrastructure encompassing compute, virtualization, storage, and container platforms.

• Engage with VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV, Microsoft Hyper-V, and/or Proxmox VE.

• Design and maintain enterprise storage solutions, including SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and NFS.

• Administer and resolve issues within Linux and Windows Server environments.

• Deploy and manage Kubernetes along with containerized workloads.

• Create high-level designs (HLDs), low-level designs (LLDs), migration strategies, implementation plans, and technical documentation.

• Lead and assist in infrastructure migrations, upgrades, and technology refresh initiatives.

• Collaborate directly with customers through discovery sessions, technical workshops, and solution design processes.

• Work alongside sales and pre-sales teams to develop technical solutions and statements of work (SOWs).

• Diagnose complex infrastructure problems and collaborate with vendors as necessary.

• Share expertise and provide technical guidance to fellow engineers.

• Cultivate expertise in AI infrastructure, automation, and emerging data center technologies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong practical experience in virtualization, compute, storage, and enterprise infrastructure.

• Proficiency with VMware, Hyper-V, Nutanix, and/or Proxmox.

• Familiarity with enterprise virtualization, enterprise compute, and physical server infrastructure.

• Knowledge of SAN, NAS, Fibre Channel, iSCSI, and NFS.

• Experience in administering Linux and Windows Server environments.

• Proficiency with Kubernetes and container technologies.

• Background in infrastructure design and technical documentation.

• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across compute, storage, virtualization, and operating systems.

• Experience in customer-facing consultancy and implementation roles.

• Understanding of infrastructure networking fundamentals.

• Experience with vSphere/VCF, vSAN, NSX, Nutanix AOS/Prism, HCI, enterprise storage, backup/DR, Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, Python, or public cloud is advantageous.

• Familiarity with NVIDIA DGX/HGX, NVIDIA AI Enterprise, GPU Operator, Base Command Manager, or AI Factory environments is a plus but not required.

• A strong sense of technical curiosity and a commitment to learning and developing expertise in AI and GPU infrastructure.
