Senior GIS Specialist

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Florida.

📋 Description

• Generates and maintains geographic data and visualizations for airport-related GIS, CAD, and/or BIM initiatives.

• Creates and oversees scripts for data analysis and systems integration.

• Evaluates the quality and adequacy of geospatial data, providing recommendations for specific enhancements.

• Constructs GIS databases in accordance with established standards.

• Produces metadata documentation.

• Conducts basic data maintenance to rectify data discrepancies.

• Gathers and updates mapping/cartographic information to assess land use, elevation, and the general relationships of existing physical elements.

• Develops maps.

• Collects, assesses, and processes GPS data.

• Engages in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

• Remains informed about trends in GIS, CAD, and BIM software.

• Oversees geospatial projects and/or supports other GIS project managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree, ideally in geography, urban planning, geographic information systems, or a related discipline.

• A minimum of 7 years of experience working with GIS, CAD, and/or BIM systems software.

• GISP certification is preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Strong ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical audiences through effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
