Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Oversee intricate system and service-oriented backend architecture utilizing C#/.NET and Angular/React.

• Establish technical methodologies and choose suitable tools and frameworks.

• Manage database structures, data models, and secure, scalable cloud environments.

• Utilize and evaluate AI coding tools for the development, testing, and upkeep of code.

• Maintain CI/CD pipelines incorporating quality gates, automated testing methods, and deployment strategies.

• Direct the migration of legacy applications to contemporary technologies and infrastructures.

• Define Service Level Objectives (SLOs) and Service Level Indicators (SLIs), employing distributed tracing and telemetry to troubleshoot system-wide challenges.

• Develop documentation and system boundaries to facilitate safe extensions by individuals and AI tools.

• Lead technical discussions, articulate trade-offs, and collaborate with product teams to shape delivery phases.

• Decompose complex challenges into clearly defined tasks while balancing speed with security and compliance.

• Mentor engineers of various experience levels.

• Assist in establishing team standards for the safe usage, review, and sharing of AI knowledge.

⛳️ Requirements

• At least 7 years of experience in software engineering.

• Significant professional experience with C#/.NET.

• Practical experience with Angular or React in a production environment.

• Experience designing, launching, and supporting at least one production-grade system that can be discussed in detail.

• Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform.

• Familiarity with Linux, containers, and infrastructure as code.

• Daily engagement with AI coding tools.

• Openness to working within an agentic delivery model.

• Experience in managing client-facing deliveries.

• Capability to explain trade-offs and communicate challenging messages promptly.

• Background in financial services.

• Experience in Commercial Real Estate or Credit Markets is a significant advantage.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Comfort working in an Agile team spanning multiple time zones.

• High self-discipline to manage time independently while maintaining close communication with a distributed team.

• Skills/technologies: C#, .NET, Angular, React, Cloud, Linux, Containers, CI/CD, AI Coding, Backend, Microservices, Agile, Financial Services, Telemetry, Infrastructure as Code.
