Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Develop and enhance features utilizing React, TypeScript, React Query, CSS Modules, Python, Django, PostgreSQL, and associated tools.

• Design responsive and accessible interfaces compatible with desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

• Take full ownership of features from initial planning through implementation, quality assurance, release, and subsequent iterations.

• Architect, construct, and sustain backend services, REST APIs, and integrations.

• Create and manage database models, migrations, and queries.

• Implement application logic, data validation, authentication, and permissions across both frontend and backend systems.

• Write and maintain automated tests for both frontend and backend functionalities.

• Diagnose issues throughout the stack, replicate bugs, validate fixes, and mitigate regressions.

• Enhance application architecture, performance, reliability, and maintainability.

• Establish AI-assisted development workflows and review generated code for accuracy, security, and maintainability.

• Engage in code reviews, technical discussions, testing, and team knowledge-sharing initiatives.

• Develop software for Called’s relational operating system that serves churches and ministries.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of software engineering experience or equivalent background in building and delivering significant production software.

• Proficient in React, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive design.

• Strong backend development expertise in Python.

• Familiarity with Django or other backend frameworks, with a readiness to work in Django.

• Experience in designing, building, and maintaining REST APIs and integrations.

• Knowledge of relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including schema design, migrations, and query optimization.

• Understanding of frontend architecture, component design, state management, data fetching, performance, and accessibility.

• Proficient in writing automated tests and troubleshooting issues across frontend, backend, and database layers.

• Experience with Git in a collaborative development setting.

• Practical experience using AI coding assistants and agentic workflows to implement, debug, test, and deploy software.

• Strong attention to detail, effective communication skills, and a commitment to ensuring quality before release.

• A passion for developing technology that bolsters mission-driven organizations.

• Bonus: Experience with Capacitor and hybrid mobile app workflows, including testing, builds, app store submissions, and mobile release management.

• Bonus: Familiarity with React Native, Expo, Ionic, Progressive Web Apps, or similar hybrid mobile workflows.

• Bonus: Experience in mobile-first design, design systems, component libraries, or reusable frontend patterns.

• Bonus: Knowledge of Docker, AWS, and CI/CD pipelines.
