This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Oversee the architecture, development, and upkeep of scalable applications on both client-side and server-side that support public health disease surveillance.
β’ Establish technical direction, make pivotal design choices, review code, mentor engineers, and address complex engineering challenges.
β’ Create and execute public health data integrations, which include DIBBS workflows, APIs, HL7 and FHIR exchanges, along with dependable data-transformation and validation pipelines.
β’ Direct record linking, matching, deduplication, and identity-resolution initiatives that enhance data quality and connect surveillance records across various source systems.
β’ Convert CDC reporting requirements into operational workflows for mapping, validation, submission, error handling, and troubleshooting.
β’ Collaborate with product managers, public health experts, data engineers, designers, engineers, and client stakeholders.
β’ Implement automated testing, continuous integration and delivery, secure coding, and best practices in cloud engineering.
β’ Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
β’ Over 10 years of professional software engineering experience, including roles as a principal, staff, or lead engineer on complex systems.
β’ At least 4 years of experience directly working with public health data and disease surveillance systems.
β’ Proven expertise in record linking, entity resolution, matching, and deduplication for public health data.
β’ Hands-on experience with DIBBS integration and integrating public health data through APIs and interoperability standards.
β’ In-depth knowledge of CDC surveillance reporting requirements and data-exchange workflows, encompassing mapping, validation, submission, and troubleshooting.
β’ Strong full-stack development experience with Java, Spring Boot, React, JavaScript, relational databases, REST APIs, and AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
β’ Experience in designing distributed, scalable, high-volume systems and data-intensive services.
β’ Proficient in automated testing, test-driven development or self-testing code, continuous integration and delivery, and DevSecOps practices.
β’ Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder collaboration skills.
β’ Strong sense of ownership and the capability to translate complex public health requirements into practical and maintainable technical solutions.
β’ Annual bonus target of 10% subject to terms and conditions of the plan.
