Senior Full Stack Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Assume complete technical ownership of the application encompassing the React frontend, Node.js backend, SQL database, APIs, and integrations.

• Design, develop, enhance, and sustain scalable and dependable application solutions.

• Convert business requirements into suitable technical designs and implementations.

• Make informed technical decisions with a focus on scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and reliability.

• Actively engage in development and tackle technically intricate implementation tasks.

• Review code and designs to guarantee engineering quality and compliance with standards.

• Provide guidance and mentorship to developers regarding implementation strategies and engineering best practices.

• Identify and resolve technical debt, performance bottlenecks, architectural deficiencies, and security issues.

• Diagnose complex application and production problems and facilitate root-cause resolution.

• Collaborate with Product, QA, DevOps, Architecture, and other stakeholders throughout the delivery lifecycle.

• Ensure adequate testing, monitoring, logging, documentation, and readiness for production.

• Continuously enhance the overall quality, performance, stability, and maintainability of the application.

• Advocate for and enforce awareness of information security practices, including acceptable use, malware protection, and password security.

• Identify, evaluate, and report security risks that impact the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information assets.

• Assess data storage, processing, and transmission for compliance with GDPR, CCPA, and other data protection standards.

• Implement data protection measures throughout the information lifecycle.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 6 years of experience in software development, ideally in full-stack application development.

• Extensive hands-on experience with React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript, and SQL.

• Proven experience in taking ownership or playing a pivotal technical role in medium-to-large applications.

• Experience across the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC): requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.

• Skilled in troubleshooting complex issues across frontend, backend, database, and integration layers.

• Experience in conducting code reviews and mentoring or guiding fellow engineers.

• Proficient in React, including components, hooks, state management, routing, reusable UI design, API integration, and frontend performance.

• Familiar with Node.js for backend/service development, REST APIs, asynchronous programming, authentication/authorization, error handling, and logging.

• Strong SQL query-writing abilities, relational database design, indexing, query optimization, and performance troubleshooting.

• High proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.

• Solid understanding of REST APIs, system integrations, and application architecture.

• Familiar with software design principles, coding standards, and design patterns.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Ability to comprehend an application from end to end and evaluate the impact of changes across the system.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment practices.

• Background in unit, integration, and automated testing.

• Exposure to microservices and distributed architectures.

• Understanding of application security and secure coding practices.

• Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.

• Familiarity with modernizing legacy applications and diminishing technical debt.

• Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
