Senior Front-End Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Oversee the design, development, and deployment of intricate front-end features utilizing React and Next.js.

• Create Server and Client Components in accordance with rendering and caching standards.

• Develop backend-for-frontend endpoints and integrate with .NET/C# and Python/FastAPI services.

• Incorporate Entra ID/OpenID Connect for authentication purposes.

• Design data-heavy screens, PDF and document viewers, rich-text editors, and workflow wizards.

• Construct streaming user interfaces leveraging SSE, Vercel AI SDK, assistant-ui, and CopilotKit over AG-UI.

• Implement human-in-the-loop workflows for approving, modifying, or overriding agent recommendations.

• Manage slow, interrupted, and failed agent calls with retries, timeouts, resumable streams, and status messaging.

• Contribute to AG-UI event contracts and shared-state architecture.

• Perform code reviews and provide mentorship to junior engineers.

• Develop accessible components that conform to WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and Section 508 standards.

• Write component and end-to-end tests using Vitest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.

• Enhance CI/CD pipelines, supply-chain controls, and OpenTelemetry instrumentation.

• Diagnose production issues to ensure user experience availability and reliability.

• Utilize and validate approved AI-assisted engineering tools while contributing reusable prompts, skills, agents, and development patterns.

• Adhere to policies regarding AI usage, intellectual property, security, privacy, PHI handling, and Responsible AI.

• Safeguard patient data in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, with at least 3 years in building production web applications using React and TypeScript.

• Practical experience with Next.js, including Server and Client Components, server-side rendering, and streaming capabilities.

• Familiarity with creating streaming or real-time user interfaces using Server-Sent Events or WebSockets.

• Experience in developing data-heavy enterprise screens utilizing KendoReact (Telerik) or MUI.

• Proficiency in integrating front ends with REST APIs and backend services, following the backend-for-frontend pattern.

• Knowledge of implementing authentication with Entra ID (Azure AD) and OpenID Connect.

• Strong understanding of WCAG 2.1/2.2 AA and Section 508 compliance.

• Experience with testing frameworks such as Vitest or Jest, React Testing Library, and Playwright.

• Familiarity with Docker, CI/CD utilizing GitHub Actions, and Git-based workflows, including pull requests.

• Regular use of AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a globally distributed team.

• Excellent problem-solving abilities.

• Strong communication skills, including the capacity to lead technical discussions, present to stakeholders, and produce detailed documentation.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

• High-speed internet connection exceeding 10 Mbps at home.

• Capability to complete identity verification, undergo background checks, in-person I-9 verification, and potential drug screening prior to employment.
