This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California, +1 more state.
• Collaborate with clients to create and implement solutions addressing their data and AI challenges utilizing the Databricks platform.
• Take ownership of architecture, lead design choices, and execute end-to-end systems encompassing data engineering, AI, and application development.
• Work collaboratively across teams to define long-term strategic priorities and initiatives in partnership with engineering, product, and developer relations.
• Integrate with client systems, offer training, and meet other technical requirements to enhance customer value derived from data.
• Spearhead customer technical projects by delivering production-ready systems, reference architectures, customized applications, data ingestion, and ML/AI model integration.
• Guide strategic customers through the comprehensive design, construction, and deployment of big data and AI applications.
• Collaborate with engagement managers to define the technical delivery scope based on customer feedback.
• Advise customers on architecture and design; either bootstrap or implement customer projects.
• Direct architecture and design choices to ensure the development of secure, scalable solutions that meet customer needs and conform to Databricks best practices.
• Partner with Databricks technical teams, Project Managers, Architects, and customer teams to deliver components of the engagement.
• Work alongside Engineering and Databricks Customer Support to provide product and implementation insights and address engagement-specific challenges.
• Integrate with customer teams and engage with stakeholders ranging from technical contributors to executives.
• Contribute to accelerators, frameworks, and best practices that enhance impact across accounts and shape the Databricks product roadmap.
• Over 6 years of experience in data engineering, data platforms & analytics, or software engineering.
• Proficient in coding in either Python, Scala, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern frameworks.
• Familiarity with two or more major Cloud ecosystems (AWS, Azure, GCP), with in-depth expertise in at least one.
• Extensive experience with distributed computing using Apache Spark™ and understanding of Spark runtime internals.
• Knowledge of CI/CD practices for production deployments.
• Proficient in MLOps, ML/AI models, and AI APIs.
• Design and deployment experience of high-performing, end-to-end production data architectures and applications that integrate data pipelines, ML/AI models, and user-facing interfaces.
• Proven experience in technical project delivery, including scope management, timelines, and measurable outcomes.
• Capability to translate intricate concepts into actionable solutions.
• Strong documentation and white-boarding skills.
• Experience working with enterprise clients and managing conflicts among a diverse range of stakeholders.
• Demonstrated curiosity, adaptability, and enthusiasm for exploring new technologies that support Databricks-based solutions.
• Willingness to travel to customer locations 20% of the time.
• Databricks Certification is required.
