Senior Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Manage the complete client relationship from initial discovery to closing.

• Make architectural and development decisions tailored to client environments and limitations.

• Independently conduct discovery sessions, architecture reviews, and stakeholder interviews.

• Convert ambiguous challenges into clearly defined, actionable tasks.

• Proactively identify and manage scope creep while highlighting potential risks.

• Recognize and present opportunities for expansion.

• Impart sustainable capabilities through well-documented, runnable, and maintainable software or automation solutions.

• After each engagement, contribute patterns, templates, and reusable components to the practice.

• Execute individual technical engagements or single-function AI adoption programs based on specialization.

• Take responsibility for outcomes related to agents, AI product development, enterprise adoption, persona discovery, enablement, and workflow automation.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of engineering or technical delivery experience, with significant time spent in embedded or client-facing roles.

• Proven track record of solo account delivery, managing a client relationship from kickoff to closure without supervision.

• Hands-on expertise in one or more areas: LLM application development, cloud-native architecture (preferably AWS), scalable backend systems, or enterprise business automation.

• Demonstrated capability to make independent technical decisions and ensure delivery quality within client environments.

• Excellent technical and executive-level communication skills.

• High tolerance for ambiguity and the ability to deliver value even when all requirements are undefined.

• Preferred: experience in building production AI systems, including RAG pipelines, agents, fine-tuned models, or LLM-native applications.

• Preferred: practical experience with Claude, AWS Bedrock, model parameters, prompt architecture, or tool utilization.

• Preferred: background in consulting, systems integration, or professional services.

• Preferred: familiarity with SOW-based delivery and scope management.

• Preferred: AWS Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, or equivalent certification.

• Operational preferred: experience in management consulting, enterprise SaaS implementation, or in-depth business-function roles.

• Operational preferred: experience designing and executing AI enablement programs for non-technical audiences.

• Operational preferred: familiarity with tools like Zapier, Power Automate, Airtable, Salesforce, Workday, or ServiceNow.

• Operational preferred: cross-functional experience in Finance, Legal, and Operations.

• Must have current legal authorization to work in the country where the position is located; Caylent does not provide sponsorship for visas or work permits.
