This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ohio.
• Offer mentorship and direction to less experienced colleagues on intricate engineering projects.
• Assess property, casualty, and liability losses at both residential and commercial properties, as well as at loss sites.
• Conduct thorough investigations to identify the root causes of incidents and failures.
• Collaborate with engineers and investigators to create comprehensive reports and drawings, detailing the causes and origins of losses and damages.
• Formulate plans, reports, and drawings to fulfill client requirements and document failure analysis and causation.
• Provide expert testimony in court and/or during depositions.
• Establish relevant engineering practices, project scopes, timelines, and cost estimates.
• Track and maintain billable hours on a time-and-expense basis.
• Work in conjunction with sales and operations managers, architects, developers, insurance adjusters, claims managers, and attorneys to foster demand for professional services.
• Partner with EFI's national forensic experts on various projects.
• Undertake other assigned responsibilities.
• Contribute to organizational quality programs.
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is mandatory.
• A Professional Engineering (PE) license is required.
• Eight (8) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of experience and education is required.
• A minimum of two (2) years of engineering experience specifically in failure analysis and forensic engineering.
• At least two (2) years of experience in the insurance and/or risk management services industry.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in PC applications, including Microsoft Office products.
• Strong analytical and interpretive abilities.
• Excellent organizational capabilities.

• Capability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to meet or exceed Performance Competencies.
• Must be able to stand and/or walk for extended durations.
• Must be capable of kneeling, squatting, or bending.
• Must be able to work outdoors under hot and/or cold weather conditions.
• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, kneel, and reach/work overhead.
• Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Proficient in pushing/pulling up to 100 pounds.
• Ability to drive for up to 4 hours per day.
