Senior Financial Controller – AI-Enabled

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the month-end and year-end financial closing processes for businesses based in the US.

• Utilize AI technologies, including ChatGPT Advanced Data Analysis and Microsoft Copilot, to assess financial datasets, detect spending irregularities, and create narrative performance reports.

• Design and sustain rolling cash flow forecasts, financial models, and annual budgets using AI-assisted forecasting tools.

• Implement and manage AI-driven OCR and AP/AR automation solutions such as Bill.com or Dext.

• Compile and present monthly financial performance packages, covering P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, to executive leadership.

• Work collaboratively with external CPA firms on tax preparation and compliance obligations.

• Deliver strategic financial insights and enhance financial workflows for growing SMEs in the US.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6+ years of progressive experience in Financial Controlling, FP&A, Corporate Finance, or as a Controller.

• Demonstrated experience supporting companies or clients based in the U.S.

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Proven experience in managing month-end and year-end closing procedures.

• Experience in preparing and analyzing P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, budgets, and financial forecasts.

• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite.

• Practical experience with AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot for financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and process automation.

• Familiarity with financial automation, OCR, and AP/AR tools like Bill.com or Dext.

• Advanced English proficiency (C1), with exceptional executive communication and presentation skills.

• High-level Excel and financial modeling capabilities.

• Experience in implementing AI-powered financial workflows.

• Knowledge of cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

• Experience coordinating with external CPA firms regarding tax and compliance issues.

• Proficiency in building automated reports, macros, and complex Excel formulas.

• A strong level of integrity, independence, and a drive to modernize conventional financial workflows.
