Senior Financial Controller – AI-Enabled

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Mexico.

📋 Description

• Oversee the financial close processes at the month-end and year-end for businesses based in the US.

• Utilize AI tools to examine financial datasets, detect spending irregularities, and produce narrative performance reports.

• Create and maintain ongoing cash flow forecasts, financial models, and yearly budgets.

• Employ AI-assisted forecasting software to anticipate financial trends.

• Implement and manage AI-driven Optical Character Recognition (OCR) and Accounts Payable/Receivable (AP/AR) automation tools to enhance invoice processing and minimize errors.

• Prepare and present monthly financial performance packages, which encompass the Profit & Loss statement, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow statement.

• Collaborate with external CPA firms on tax preparation and compliance obligations.

• Deliver strategic financial insights to executive leadership and business owners.

⛳️ Requirements

• 4–6+ years of progressive experience in Financial Controlling, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Corporate Finance, or as a Controller.

• Demonstrated experience supporting companies or clients based in the U.S.

• In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards.

• Hands-on experience overseeing month-end and year-end closing activities.

• Proficiency in preparing and analyzing Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow statements, budgets, and financial forecasts.

• Advanced expertise in QuickBooks Online, Xero, or NetSuite.

• Practical experience utilizing AI tools such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot for financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and process automation.

• Familiarity with financial automation, OCR, and AP/AR tools such as Bill.com or Dext.

• Proficient in English (C1 level), with exceptional executive communication and presentation skills.

• Advanced skills in Excel and financial modeling.

• Experience in implementing AI-powered financial workflows.

• Skills in cash flow forecasting, budgeting, variance analysis, and financial modeling.

• Experience coordinating with external CPA firms regarding tax and compliance matters.

• Proven ability in building automated reports, macros, and complex Excel formulas.
