Senior Financial Accountant

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Take charge of daily operations within the entire accounting function, encompassing purchasing-side accounting/accounts payable, accounts receivable, and treasury management.

• Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with German GAAP (HGB).

• Assist in consolidation activities and reporting requirements for management.

• Prepare for and facilitate the annual financial statement audit, acting as the primary liaison for external auditors.

• Coordinate tax-related issues with tax advisors.

• Oversee VAT matters, including VAT advance returns and filings for EC Sales List (ZM), Z4, and One-Stop Shop (OSS) concerning international transactions.

• Manage transfer pricing within the corporate group.

• Continuously enhance and automate accounting processes along with interfaces related to purchasing, sales, and controlling.

• Strategically utilize AI tools and digital workflows.

⛳️ Requirements

• Completed vocational training in commerce or tax-related fields, preferably with further qualifications as a certified accountant (m/f/d), or a degree focused on accounting, finance, or taxation.

• Several years of professional experience in accounting, particularly in the preparation of financial statements.

• Experience in a globally oriented company or in an auditing or tax advisory firm is preferred.

• Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles in accordance with German GAAP (HGB).

• Solid understanding of IFRS.

• Experience with consolidation processes is a plus.

• Strong expertise in VAT legislation, especially in cross-border situations, including EC Sales List (ZM) and OSS filings.

• Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts.

• Proficient in common accounting software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

• Knowledge of Odoo is a benefit.

• Fluent in written and spoken German.

• Proficient in written and spoken English.
