Head of Investments

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Washington.

📋 Description

• Co-lead the investment strategy and execution within Arrived.

• Oversee and expand Arrived’s portfolio exceeding $400M in equity and credit products, catering to more than 65,000 investors.

• Manage and elevate the Investments team through leadership in investment strategies, sourcing, acquisitions, asset management, and due diligence.

• Collaborate with Product and Finance teams to design innovative investment products.

• Optimize and manage investment strategies and portfolios in real estate equity, credit, and hybrid products.

• Formulate investment theses, portfolio construction frameworks, risk frameworks, and underwriting standards.

• Develop new products for Arrived’s investors while assessing markets, asset types, and capital structures.

• Track comparable third-party investments and benchmark their performance.

• Establish sourcing channels through brokers, developers, institutions, and internal teams.

• Supervise underwriting and investment committee processes.

• Build diversified portfolios that align with investor expectations and risk-return objectives.

• Lead the monitoring of performance, asset optimization, value creation, refinancing, and dispositions.

• Recruit, mentor, and grow teams across acquisitions, underwriting, research, and asset management.

• Implement best practices, systems, and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

• Collaborate with Product, Finance, Legal, and Engineering to launch equity and credit investment products.

• Identify new geographical areas, partnerships, and asset classes.

• Maintain asset management models, performance tracking, and processes for continuous improvement.

• Develop processes that foster trust, accuracy, and transparency within investment operations.

• Share insights with investor-facing teams and establish regular information-sharing systems.

• Act as an external thought leader, contributing market insights and educational content.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in real estate investment, with exposure to both equity and credit strategies.

• Demonstrated success in acquisitions and asset management.

• Proven expertise in underwriting and financial modeling.

• Established track record in large-scale portfolio construction.

• Proven experience in structuring debt and equity investment products.

• In-depth knowledge of risk/reward trade-offs and a history of positive performance.

• Successful leadership and development of investment teams.

• Experience with an institutional real estate firm, private equity fund, REIT, real estate asset manager, or residential real estate credit fund.

• Familiarity with real estate capital markets, lending, and financing structures.

• Strong leadership experience in building and scaling high-performing investment teams.

• Exceptional communication skills, able to simplify complex financial concepts for both investors and internal teams.

• Proactive attitude, comfortable with ambiguity, and enthusiastic about building new initiatives.
