This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Perform field operations and related tasks for non-invasive acoustic detection of underground pipeline leaks, monitoring, and condition evaluation.

• Oversee field data gathering and assist in project planning and reporting throughout the entirety of the project lifecycle.

• Supervise a small onsite team of 2–3 individuals and coordinate efforts with project management, subcontractors, and client teams.

• Facilitate project updates, client meetings, subcontractor management, and communication with clients.

• Execute field testing, data analysis, reporting, client relations, and project oversight.

• Direct fieldwork for a condition assessment initiative spanning 90 miles of water mains in Newark, Delaware.

• Gather and analyze onsite data for leak detection and condition assessment projects.

• Review data and compile project reports and leak documentation.

• Plan and manage logistics effectively.

• Conduct leak detection surveys on distribution and transmission water mains.

• Oversee the collection of condition assessment metrics and summarize findings for project and client dissemination.

• Install and maintain permanent leak-detection monitoring systems.

• Manage equipment, quality assurance/quality control, inventories, shipping, and receiving processes.

• Identify and implement ongoing improvements to operational processes and systems.

• Train and supervise subcontracted labor onsite for hardware installation and data gathering.

• Educate clients on the use and maintenance of equipment and the performance of Echologics services.

• Conduct site inspections and document outcomes in inspection summary reports.

• Track time and expenses and coordinate subcontractor activities.

• Adhere to Mueller Water Products’ Code of Conduct and Environmental, Health, and Safety regulations.


⛳️ Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent educational background.

• A minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience in field data collection or hands-on outdoor tasks.

• Proven experience in managing and coordinating small teams or subcontractors on-site.

• Proficiency in utilizing basic hand tools.

• Familiarity with field testing equipment such as surveying tools, sample collection devices, underground utility locators, GPS, etc.

• Experience in interpreting GIS mapping interfaces and construction drawings.

• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

• Demonstrated capacity to solve technical problems and work independently.

• Basic computer literacy with experience in using email, MS Office, MS Teams, and MS Excel.

• Capability to interact with clients and customers in a field environment.

• Experience in water distribution systems or utility sectors.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, navigate uneven surfaces, work temporarily in confined spaces, and perform outdoor tasks in various weather conditions.

• A diploma in Engineering Technology/Technologist in mechanical engineering, civil engineering, civil engineering technology, environmental science, or a related field is advantageous.

• A Level 1 or higher water operator license is a plus.

• Experience in leak detection or condition assessment of water systems is beneficial.

• Familiarity with installing custom electronic equipment is a plus.

• Knowledge and experience in measuring pressure and flow in water pipelines is advantageous.

• Construction experience and handling of power tools is beneficial.

• Confined space entry/rescue experience or certification is advantageous; training will be provided if certification is not currently held.
