Senior Field Specialist – Data Platform

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Lead customer interactions by designing and showcasing data platform solution architectures and business outcomes to both technical and executive stakeholders.

• Offer extensive platform expertise throughout the sales process, assisting with PoCs, solution sizing, and adoption for both new and existing clients, particularly focusing on EMEA-specific use cases and scenarios.

• Diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges, offering guidance and spearheading escalations to ensure customer success.

• Propel internal and external technical enablement by investigating new technologies, creating educational resources, and disseminating best practices.

• Shape the product roadmap by converting customer feedback and EMEA-specific needs into actionable insights for product and engineering teams.

• Serve as a Cloudera ambassador through community engagement, event speaking, and knowledge sharing initiatives.

• Collaborate with Sales, Product, and Engineering teams to synchronize customer success with product vision.

• Enable enterprise clients to leverage data and AI use cases effectively, driving successful outcomes.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proven track record in leading and executing mission-critical data use cases across sectors such as Financial Services, Retail, Healthcare, and the Public Sector.

• Demonstrated experience in designing, constructing, and deploying enterprise-level platforms utilizing Kubernetes, on-premises object stores, and distributed systems.

• Hands-on proficiency with Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, OpenStack, Ceph, Apache Ozone, and comparable platform technologies.

• Strong foundation in architecting production data platform deployments, encompassing infrastructure, security, and networking in intricate enterprise environments.

• Proven ability to conduct Proofs of Concept (PoCs) and MVPs that lead to successful production implementations.

• Practical experience in designing and executing enterprise-level data-intensive use cases, addressing security and governance challenges.

• Exceptional presentation abilities and comfort in engaging diverse audiences, from engineers to senior executives.

• Capability to analyze customer workloads and develop customized technical migration roadmaps.

• Bonus: previous pre-sales or technical consulting experience focused on big data and AI platform solutions.

• Bonus: hands-on experience deploying Red Hat OpenStack and Kubernetes/Red Hat OpenShift while advising customers/partners on technical integrations.

• Bonus: experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation.

• Bonus: familiarity with open-source software and development practices.

• Bonus: knowledge of Cloudera AI/CML, CDP Data Services, and SDX.

• Bonus: relevant technical platform certifications such as CKA.

• Bonus: working knowledge of Apache Spark, Airflow, Impala, and the open-source data and AI ecosystem.
