Senior Expert – Design Review, Pressure Equipment & Piping

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Evaluate and validate pressure equipment and piping in compliance with European Directive 2014/68/EU (PED)

• Conduct analytical and, when necessary, numerical evaluations, including strength and stability assessments for intricate pressure vessels, piping systems, and other pressure-bearing components subject to inspection

• Analyze piping classes and determine the load-bearing capacity and strength of piping systems (PSA)

• Implement recognized codes and standards as well as national and international guidelines, including AD2000, EN 13445, EN 13480, and ASME

• Evaluate material appropriateness and proposed manufacturing methods, including welding design and code-compliant construction

• Utilize calculation software such as ROHR2, PROBAD, and Rohr2fesu, in addition to FEM tools like Ansys

• Review and evaluate individual technical assessments, such as PMAs, concerning the materials utilized

• When applicable, perform surveillance and quality assurance audits during the production of pressure equipment

• Create technical documentation, inspection and acceptance reports, safety assessments, and expert evaluations

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, process engineering, or a related field

• Significant experience with European Directive 2014/68/EU (PED) and the associated codes, technical regulations, guidelines, and harmonized standards

• Profound experience in the design and strength analysis of pressure equipment, including assessments of structural integrity and stability

• Familiarity with acceptance testing of pressure equipment and assemblies is a plus

• Understanding of manufacturing processes, materials engineering, and welding technology is advantageous

• Knowledge of surveillance and quality assurance audits (ISO 9001/PED/etc.) is beneficial

• Excellent proficiency in both written and spoken German and English

• Willingness to travel
